My shoes blew out this morning!
The pair of black dress shoes that I own is in serious need of a shine and some restitching in spots on the uppers, so Mrs. Arbusto took them to a local shop yesterday. So, today I wore my old low quarter perma-shines from my days in uniform.

They are an old pair of shoes (about 15 years), but still look really nice. Well, they DID.

Now, not so much.

When I put them on this AM, my wife said to me, "Is there mud on your shoes or something?" I checked and said no.

She picked up something off the floor and said, "Looks like this is from the sole of your shoe."

I looked again, and sure enough, a small piece of the heel had fallen away. Agin, the shoes are old, but I figured I could get away with wearing 'em today for 1 day in the office.

Nope.

About 10 minutes after I arrived, I noticed I was leaving a "trail" behind me, and that the shoes were starting to feel downright odd.

Turns out, I'd lost about half of the heel on BOTH of them. I don't know if they're worth fixing, or I should throw them out. At the moment, I'm wearing a dress shirt and slack, along with my New Balance running shoes.
