Allegra isn't working for me anymore
What should I do? Zyrtec works well, but puts me to sleep.

Any advice?

1. there are other non-drowsy antihistamines
They are OTC up here and the shelves are full of choices. I use Allegra myself.

2. I rotated between those 2
But zyrtec never made me sleepy. I got nothing.

Have you looked into allergy shots? If my allergies keep escalating every year, I will have to do some research myself.

3. Switch to Zyrtec w/out the 'D' in it...
You can get Wal-Zyr (generic) w/out the sleepiness. Unfortunately most allergy meds change for me over time so I have to switch around a lot.

4. I stopped taking all my allergy meds completely several years ago.
Took about a month, but I'm so much better I can't believe they had any good effect at all other than making $ for the pharmacy and the insurance company.
I use one of those nasal irrigators for tha last few months and they have been better than anything I have ever used in over 60 years of sneezing and terrible headaches.

5. Move to India.
My daughter did an 11-month foreign
exchange there.

I had to BEG AND PLEAD doctors and insurance
companies to double and triple up on her
prescriptions so that she would have a
year-long course while she was gone.

She came back without taking a single
pill...

She was not allergic to any of the local
flora, and most families did not keep
pets in their houses....
