I'm knitting a squid...
that's all. Thought I'd try to pull focus for a sec. :P

:hi:

Actually, I knitted a squid. It's done. I'm just weaving the ends in right now.

6. How did the narwhale thing start anyway?
I went away for a few days (no one bothered to call and see if I was alive, even) and *boom* it's narwhale city in here.

8. Here you go:

When it first showed up in my browser, it was tiny, and I had to zoom in on the image. If that doesn't work, google "motherfucking narwhals"

Series.

I saw the cutest felted Yip-Yip that I'm dying to figure out!

Can't wait to see your squid. :bounce:

18. Do you have a pattern, or are you going to wing it?
I don't have the nerve to knit without a pattern, but I think I may need to make one of those all of a sudden....

19. I've looked everywhere for a pattern.
I will probably try to crochet it, since I'm much more experienced with that. But I'm definitely going to have to wing it unless I have a Google search miracle.

on Knitty and Ravelry. Those peeps are incredible resources.

You should post about it in the Patterns forum on Rav! Do it!! :bounce:

22. I found it on Craftster.
Edited on Thu Mar-26-09 07:07 PM by VenusRising
Maybe I'll just message the girl that made it originally since I'm a member there. I have had other projects going, so it hasn't made it to the planning stage yet.

I so want to make one, though. I'll definitely let you know when I get a reply.

20. If I can't find that pattern, I will wing it
I saved the pic.

My knitting philosophy is...anything is possible/do-able/not totally insane. :D

I'm one of those fearless knitters, b/c you can always rip back and begin again. It's very Zen. :P

25. You're lucky. I'm a chicken-ass knitter.
I taught myself about 10 years ago because someone gave me a pair of hand-knit socks and I wanted to make some more.

Ten years later I still haven't worked up the nerve to try making socks. :yoiks:

26. My suggestion...
if the reason you don't want to knit socks is b/c of the double pointed needles, try Cat Bordhi's "Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles", and "New Pathways for Sock Knitters"...She's amazing. And her YouTube vids are also awesome.

And, if you decide to jump back into socks, you can always PM me. :)

Thanks for the resources! I will check them out. And work up the nerve to make socks. :hi:

28. Please, if you want to do it, PM me
I HATE DPNs...I only knit on 2 circs. The thing I'm knitting right now went down to 2 stitches in the round, and I can do it on 2 circs.

And if 2 circs doesn't work for you, Magic Loop is popular too...small circumference knitting on one long (40" or more) circular.

:D

36. Mmm, eyes are super easy:
In this pattern:

CO 24 stitches in CC2, divide evenly
R1: *K2tog*
R2: Switch to CC3, *K*
R3: *K2tog*
R4: Thread yarn onto tapestry needle , thread through all 6 stitches, pull tight.
