Good morning Lounge
How are you today? Did you have a nice weekend? I had a wonderful weekend at my mom's with good company and good food :D

There is still snow where my mom lives. But it starts to melt. So this is what comes out of it :

My weekend has been pleasant. I didn't really do all that much, though. I've been talking to a woman from a dating site for about a week and a half and I've been hoping to get a date with her. It would make my weekends much more exciting. But she wants to take it slow because she's in the process of getting a divorce. I can deal with that, but I'd at least like to be able to talk to her on the phone. Real time conversations when you are trying to get to know someone are much better than e-mails.

Anyway, here's a pic of my truck during a snow storm we got last winter. We were hit with 20 inches and work was called off. I remember only having frozen pizza to eat and not being able to get to the grocery store. :)

Yes, phone conversations are important. It will show if you are able to talk with each other. Emails you can construct, phone conversations not.

WOW, that looks like a lot of snow. I am so glad spring is finally here.

I am having a really hard time getting out of bed this morning....

Maybe I need to stay off the phone at night ;). I was up until 3 both Friday and Saturday and midnight last night :banghead:

I love the picture!!! My muddy yard is a little frozen again, so I am going to try and do some work there, but first I have to deal with all the downed trees from the ice storm in December. The tree guy is coming today (hopefully)

How was the pj party Friday??

Are you staying home today because of the tree guy?

I need to lose a few pounds :D

I can't believe that it might be until August until we see each other again, but at least I know we have that date. I got my Phish tickets on Friday :woohoo:

All my friends are REALLY jealous ;) that I got my tix, but we are all still hoping to get selected for the pre-sale lottery - so I may have 6 tix on Wednesday. Thing is, there are so many of us, the tix would not go to waste at all. I know so many people who would be happy to take a pair off my hands.

I am sitting here at work, bored, listening to The Cure.

I love "Fascination Street" :bounce::bounce:

so we actually have a seat! :woohoo::woohoo:

But,since we have all been going to concerts at that location for 20+ years, we have a designated spot on the general admission lawn where we will meet our friends. Even in the days before the cell phone, etc., we always knew where to find our peeps - very fun! Friends we didn't even know were going to be there would come and find us at "the spot"

that he is not even gonna try to get tix *phew*

And while everyone has agreed to keep everything quiet, one of my friends may be finding it impossible to keep the cat in the bag - so P. is thinking about calling A. this week. This one person was not privy to the information until Saturday night. Someone mentioned P., and the friend said "What, did P. come see you?" to which another responded "Nope, she went to see him." That led to a bevvy of questions, an interrogation... and then everyone cheering

25. It is a yummy recipe. You don't
like salmon? Oh, I would think one could substitute any fish, or for that matter just leave it out completely.

Angel Hair Pasta With Smoked Salmon in Tomato Herb Sauce
• 6 oz thinly sliced smoked salmon
• 8 oz angel hair (capellini) pasta
• 1 large clove garlic, minced
• 3 Tblsp olive oil
• 2 1/4 c seeded and chopped tomatoes (2 med), divided
• 1/2 c dry white wine
• 3 tblsp drained large capers
• 1-1/2 tsp dill weed
• 1-1/2 tsp sweet basil
• 1/2 c freshly grated Parmesan cheese
• parsley, optional
Directions:
Cut smoked salmon, with the grain, into 1/2-inch wide strips; reserve. Cook pasta as package directs.
Meanwhile, in large skillet, stir and cook garlic in hot oil over medium-high heat until garlic is golden. Add 2 c tomatoes, wine, capers, dill weed and basil; stir and cook until mixture is hot.
Drain pasta, place in large serving bowl. Toss angel hair with tomato mixture. Add smoked salmon and cheese; toss gently.
Garnish with remaining tomatoes and parsley, if desired.

Oh, snow has been rapidly melting here. Everything looks so brown, but soon things will green up and flowers will start shooting out. Can't wait!

but I like seafood. Go figure :eyes:

I would have to leave out the dill weed and the capers too. Maybe substitute the salmon with chicken. Other than that it really sounds yummy and really easily made. Can I use Spaghetti too?

The fist color of the year is so precious, especially after such a long winter.

Gotta head out to work now.

39. Yes, I know.
And there's a pic of your baby on my camera, too.

Yep, I said hello to her and she said hello back and asked about you. She also asked about how someone else was doing, but I just said "not so good" and left it at that.

Oh, and there aren't any new plants in the garden yet. Once they're planted, it should be pretty cool. Every garden we do is my favorite.

44. Yep ...
with good friends.

You know the little square in front of the garage? We dug out the gravel and filled it with dirt and planted a Hinoki Cypress there. (Here's a pic: http://www.nurserytrees.com/Hinoki%20Cypress.htm) Might plant some annuals or herbs around it. It's fabulous! And we put a little cafe set on the porch beside it. Then the "river" heads out from the west side of the porch and meanders around the large boulders. There will be all sorts of greenery growing on the river bank and star sedum inside the river bed, which will look like it's floating down the stream. A Japanese maple between the windows and some other shrubs will complete it. Got it pictured? :bounce:

What an interesting picture! I'm impressed that you managed to capture it before the top fell off.

I'm glad you had a good weekend...did she enjoy her party?

:hi: :loveya:

Thank you. I am glad about that too. I took my camera with me during our afternoon walk yesterday. I took pics of the scenery often already. So the natural ice sculpture was something different.

Yes, my mom enjoyed her party too. We laughed a lot. You could have come. Food was plenty. I took a care package home with me :D

I spent the weekend working on my paper for class and doing laundry. Neither of which were particularly exciting.

55. Alright
we had beef (simmering for 5 hours in red wine and veggies), dumplings and veggies. Also had Antipasti and and as desert a lime parfait.

Now you also know what I will eat this evening. OK, except the antipasti and desert :D

I need to do my laundry too, haven't done it in two weeks. Guess I know what I will do tonight. At least we don't have to clean the laundry ourselves anymore but have the washing machine.

56. I made chicken soup yesterday
I've actually never done that before - usually it's just from a can or something. It was much, much easier than I expected it to be. :)

I have to go to the laundromat to do laundry which is a bit of a hassle, but not too bad. It's right around the block from me, and the most interesting people go there, so there is always some good conversation.

I can cook, I just generally don't like to. The soup was seriously easy though. I can do that again.

64. yeah.
I think I cheated slightly. I used pre-cooked canned chicken, instead of cooking a chicken and shredding it, and I used pre-made chicken stock, which I had in the house and needed to use up. It was so much easier. I did use fresh carrots and corn and I would have thrown in celery, but I didn't have any. I thought about putting in fresh green beans, but it seemed a little too weird to me.

66. Cooking a chicken and shredding it
takes quite a bit. They way you did it is totally acceptable. You can throw into the soup whatever you like, no need to wonder if it is weird or not :D

I probably would have found something to submit if it hadn't filled up that fast. It's okay that I didn't, though.

I'm really not at all competitive about that sort of thing, so I'm okay not being in a contest, and letting someone else have a slot.

102. most people are pretty nice about it if you ask politely
the problem is, then they pose and you don't get a natural picture.

A friend of mine has a camera where the view-finder opens out, so people don't realize she is taking their picture - I want one of those!
