I was out of cat food this morning and didn't just rush right off to get more
My cats circled the dish for an hour then ATTACKED each other. All because there was no food. It broke my heart. :-(

1. Last week, I forgot to buy dog food.
The store was closed by the time I realized it, so I gave my dog a can of chicken soup. I think she was happy with it. :D

Did your cats hurt one another, or just swipe at each other?

What's wrong with you, that you didn't immediately drop everything and dash to the store, blowing every stoplight on the way, to buy more cat food? Dude, where are your priorities??

28. I have a cat that will not eat tuna.
He won't eat anything but his preferred dry food. Then I have another cat that will eat anything, spaghetti, rice, french fries, anything. They are quite strange animals.

20. I always have a few cans of backup tuna.
The problem is that if I have to use it because I've run out of cat food, they remember. So the next time I feed them their regular cat food they just stand in front of their bowls and stare at me with this look like, "What's this, and where the hell is the tuna?"

34. One of mine is obsessed with roses!
Edited on Tue Mar-17-09 08:35 AM by distantearlywarning
I thought I was the only cat owner in the world who had a cat who loved roses.

We can't put roses anywhere in the house where he can get to them. If we put them on the table where he can reach them, we will come back 5 minutes later to find all the rose heads bitten off and petals strewn everywhere. And a purring, ecstatic cat rolling around in the chaos. We've become very good at finding places to put flowers out of the reach of kitty.

He knows the instant we walk through the door with roses, too, and appears out of thin air and hovers to see if we might accidentally drop one. When we put them up on a high shelf, he sits underneath and stares at them mournfully. We usually do save him one and put it in a place where he can find it, because it makes him so happy.

I have no idea where he got all this behavior/preference from - he's been like that since he was a little kitten.
