This is worse than Black Friday. People get irritated after waiting a long time, and they already are competing for the few slots or few TV's that are actually in stock. Bad organization causes people to stampede. This is ridiculous.
I am not one who hangs out in line for hours waiting for stuff, and think responsibility does lie a little with people behaving like this, but with some good organization, crowd control, and someone to keep the crowd informed, this kind of thing is avoidable.
That being said, they had auditions in Orlando last weekend, and a friend of mine took her daughter. Many people were waiting for hours, and were told as long as they arrived before a certain time, they would be seen. Well, they arrived 4 hours before said time, and a group of hundreds were told they would not be seen. If they dealt with the same sort of thing in Orlando, did they think it would just get better on its own in a much larger city?
