2. If it's got pepperoni, it's not a Margherita
Tomato, mozzarella, basil.

But, lovely pics. :)

8. I have the owner on an education curve...
...I'm Italian.

He's not.

He keeps asking me "You're Italian, what do you think about..."

So yes, that detail shot right past me when it shouldn't have. I've been giving him the feedback from DU and from my friends who have seen the Web Site.

11. No, this kind of feedback is golden...thank you VERY much...
...his pizza parlor is LITERALLY in the shadow of a Little Caesar's.

Little Caesar's is on the main street, he is in a strip mall set back from the main street. I've told him this many times. It finally sank in. When I did the first version of the Web Site, I only included 4 photos to keep the cost down. He saw the finished site and the 4 photos and immediately had me back today to take some more.

There are three more photos that I didn't include, but I will now, to illustrate where he's coming from. He's passionate about using quality ingredients, so he wanted the ingredients photographed. I scrapped six other photos before we got the angle and lighting and composition that he wanted. Show me the average franchise owner who cares as much as this man and I'll be amazed.

When you buy a pizza or salad or calzone or sandwich from Mario, this is what goes in it and on it. He's also very, very proud of his pizza dough...100% made by hand, fresh, not frozen. As an Italian, I can confirm that he definitely got the dough right. Nice and thin and tasty.

12. Cannot even describe the aromas as I'm standing over these things, taking the photos.
I've eaten here three times to date. I can confirm that the place is clean as a whistle, that the food looks as good as it tastes, and that he has asked every single customer who's eaten in the place while I've been there if they liked the food.

13. Where is this place?
All the pizzas look great except get rid of the jalapeños. Otherwise I'll take one of each.

14. San Jose, CA...
...I agree with the your comments about the jalapenos, but "Mexican Pizzas" and "Ham & Pineapple Pizzas" have taken their place...for better or worse...on the menus of many pizza joints.

I, personally, would not eat an "El Tri"...but I encouraged him to make one and include it in the photos because there are plenty of people who would (especially in Silicon Valley), and my intent with the Web Site was to show that he has a mix of "traditional" fare as well as stuff that he created, items you won't find at the local Mountain Mike's or Round Table.

I did the Web Site for another Italian restaurant...this one family-owned, very authentic...and one of the owners has been known to threaten anyone ordering a ham & pineapple pizza with bodily harm. It's not on the menu, and while they will make just about any off-menu item you request of they have the ingredients, asking for a ham & pineapple is a quick route to "sleeping with the fishes..."
