The bathtub chronicles, part 1 (add yours)
Last week I immersed my tired bones & ligaments in their favorite place, a hot bath - oh, the weightlessness! "I'll just close my eyes and relax for a bit..." Next thing I know I'm having a nightmare of drowning in a large swimming pool, and awake to coughing and spitting up water, having gone totally asleep and slumped down in the tub. A few nights later in the safety of bed, the exact same drowning nightmare re-visits me, causing a shocked & sweaty awakening.

I've never had any phobias, but am now a bit leery of the bathtub, and also have visions of the old crippling shower fall - a common cause of injury in 'Murka.

Have you had tub/shower scares or worse? Any resultant quasi-phobias? Am I losing my mind, or just stupid enough to sleep in a bathtub?

taking a shower.

I had stolen about $40,000 from my emplyer and was driving out of town. It was raining really hard and I stayed in a Motel.

When I was showering this guy tried to knife me.

I got away.

2. My daughter had a different sort of scare...
her two roommates are a lesbian couple (my daughter is hetero), and she wanted to use the bathroom. She couldn't for over an hour, because her roommates were in the tub together, reading Harry Potter outloud to each other. She didn't see so much wrong with the sharing of the tub, but the Harry Potter part scared her! :scared:

3. you actually could have died of hypothermia!
A lesser member of the royal family died of hypothermia after falling asleep in a bathtub in the mid 1970s, when I attended college there, so I know it is not an urban legend.

7. I have heard
that hypothermia is a painless way to die. Not that I want to, mind you. However, should the Junta retain power in November I might start taking daily baths while extremely fatigued.

11. A bug bit me.
We have a ladybug problem here. They live in the walls through the winter, and then when the weather gets nice they come out. Some of them must make their way outside, but a lot of them end up crawling all over my walls and windows.

And they're not all just regular ladybugs, some of them are some sort of Asian beetle that bites. I was taking a bath today when one fell from the ceiling, landed on my back, and bit me.

Which isn't as scary as almost drowning in the tub, but it was mildly annoying.
