I'm annoyed at the flames at various members

I think we try to shout down opposing views and it stifles debate. Let's say that someone opposes gay marriage or is anti-choice. My issue is those who suggest that women deserve to earn less than men because they take off time for their children. Whatever your issue, and most of us have several, we cannot reject folks who are on the opposite side. We have to build a coalition to defeat the Repub junta.

I often disagree and despise some of the positions argued here. But, I think we are in agreement that Bush needs to go, all need civil rights, and we respect each other.

Should this be in GD? Explain because that's very sad if we can't discuss politics in the Lounge.
