I confess that I have gazed upon (esp. whilst living in the UK) the occasional Page Three model while entertaining lustful thoughts. I am shocked to learn that some of these models were not 18. Does this make me a pedophile? Should I report myself so that I might be entered into the sex-criminal database?

The Sun and other British tabloids have also provoked controversy by featuring girls as young as 16 as topless models. Samantha Fox, Maria Whittaker, Debee Ashby, and many others began their topless modelling careers in The Sun at the age of 16, while the Daily Sport was even known to count down the days until it could feature a teenage girl topless on her 16th birthday, as it did with Linsey Dawn McKenzie in 1994, among others.

16. This is what happened to me the other day...

I'm an old woman who hasn't been "turned on" in quite some time. The other day, I went to have some X-rays taken. Then this young technician came out to get me. He couldn't have been more than twenty. He was take-your-breath-away gorgeous. Tall, lean, shiny black hair to just below his ears, red lips and the bluest eyes you've ever seen. As a viewer it can be difficult to tell age of the model.

That is not really the issue though. It IS exploitation to expose a teenager to national attention like this. Teens are not able to make mature, informed decisions like a woman a few years older would be. A teenager might not fully comprehend the long term consequences of their choices. These women almost always go into the a sex industry career. Would they have chosen this same future if they had been allowed to mature a little? Nobody can say because they were NOT left alone to wait and see. The magazines cross into questionable territory for many when they go into this "grey" area. You would not even have a question to ask if they would have simply allowed the kids to finish being kids and instead showed young adult models.

Let's leave the kids alone. There are plenty of breasts over 18 to look at.

I want to add...I am COMPLETELY opposed to teens being prosecuted as sex offenders for sending out their own pictures or receiving pictures of their peers. I am also opposed to SO status for 18/16 couples. I do think that there should be consequences for adults that EXPLOIT the images of young people.
