11. Okay, a couple of things: a minor theory and an issue with continuity in the show...

first the theory: Faraday is Charlotte's dad.

second.

We see Kim at the end of the show in a Dharma jumpsuit. So therefore he's part of the Dharma crew.

here's my problem. Kim encounters Danielle Rousseau as young pregnant woman. They flash forward. she tries to kill him. Then we don't hear anything about them.

The next time we see Kim he's working for Dharma. So there had to be a passage of a good amount of time. I don't think the Dharma folks just take anyone in, "hey look the new guy!"

Given that, that means the other Lost folks, Sawyer and the like also had to go through that same time passage, because it appears as if they all transport to another time everytime there is a flash. So that means, if Locke stopped the flashes all the other Lost folks have been living on the Island since the 1980's. Maybe they are the others?

Now my problem.

The Oceananic 6 "flash" off the plane onto the Island.

Now given the fact that everytime there is a flash, there is also a time shift.

But, how was there a flash if Locke fixed the donkey wheel? Or if that flash was when Locke fixed the wheel, how can he be both dead, in a casket and on the plane? AND if they all flashed at the same time, the O6, island losties, kim and Rousseau, then how does one explain how Kim is now working for Dharma so quickly? "oh, look a new guy".

So one has to believe then that the flash that brought the O6 back to the island was a separate deal from the flashing on the Island. So, if that is the case, how then did the first plane 815 get knocked out of the sky? if the explosion that Desmond caused a rift in time, wouldn't the O6, originally be flashed to the island instead of the plane crashing?

I liked this episode but, being a former filmmaker, colossal film geek and have a keen eye for continuity, this made me feel that the writers dropped the ball.

Of course all this can be explained the in the next episode, but so far given everything they have set up regarding time travel, none of the events of getting the O6 back to the island make sense story mechanics wise.

I like your theory re: Charlotte. No, I LOVE it.

Continuity: the only thing I have a problem with is Kim, but I'm sure there's an answer (btw, I was really expecting it to be Mr. "Workman" in the van and maybe this even being the Ben killing his dad scene).

As to the flash, I don't have a continuity answer, but I am guess that the original Oceanic flight was manipulated so that Jack's dad could get back on the island. Maybe some others on the plane as well. The mirror opening to Jack in the jungle is pointing in that direction. That and the shoes motif.

I guess I have faith in the writers. They have proven that they have this all pretty well planned out, so I'm willing to suspend disbelief for them on this one.
