4. It is really annoying,
but sometimes it is amusing just to see what makes "the ticker." I mean, we are talking the most inane things like: "Dad from Alf to return to TV on a much anticipated spin-off to Alf."

5. Network ''bugs" too
In addition to the news streamers, I would add the network and local station 'bugs'-- those pesky little logos that they add. It used to be that they were small and just appeared for a few seconds every 15 minutes to comply with station ID requirements. They are not 24/7 on most networks and have gotten much larger and intrusive. I wish we could toggle both of them off.

6. I like them
They crack me up.

And The Simpsons did a great gag where they really ripped Faux News to pieces. The ticker was hilarious

7. YES
They are so distracting -- I can be watching an intense story and all of sudden, "hey, Larry King's getting married again?"

Jon Stewart did a great skit about this way back when they first appeared.
