A very personal Procol Harum thread-Post your favorite Procol Harum song here
I am currently listening to "Conquistador" and now "She Wandered through the Garden Fence" came on. This music makes me remember my first love. "Too Much Between Us" is more than I can take.

1. "Whiter Shade of Pale" is the only song I know by them
And I'm a boomer who lived through those times!

7. They were underrated...
...but tonight, I'm just remembering a lost love. Even though more than twenty years have passed, sometimes I can close my eyes and she's almost close enough for me to touch her.

2. My favorite is "A Salty Dog."
all hands on deck, we've run afloat! I heard the captain cry
explore the ship, replace the cook: let no one leave alive!
Across the straits, around the horn: how far can sailors fly?
A twisted path, our tortured course, and no one left alive

We sailed for parts unknown to man, where ships come home to die
No lofty peak, nor fortress bold, could match our captains eye
Upon the seventh seasick day we made our port of call
A sand so white, and sea so blue, no mortal place at all

We fired the gun, and burnt the mast, and rowed from ship to shore
The captain cried, we sailors wept: our tears were tears of joy
Now many moons and many junes have passed since we made land
A salty dog, this seamans log: your witness my own hand
