Anybody here know the Rules of Advertising on TV?
I've noticed (especially on Car Ads) that as they give their "Pitch" they'll put this
12 lines of itsy-bitsy print on the lower half of the screen for about 2 seconds which I'm sure has
57 disclaimers on the sale/product.

I mean, what the hell is the sense in doing it at all if the consumer does not have time to read it. ??

I don't get the Logic of the whole thing,,,

2. It keeps the corporate lawyers happy.
CYA

I work at an ad agency. Even our print ads have long paragraphs of legal in them. They're often set in type so small you can't read it. We call it mouse type.

9. I once worked at a Nissan dealership
And they used to advertise new pickup trucks in the local paper for $6000 although there were no trucks on the lot at that price. Even the dealer's cost was above $7000 I was told.

In small print, distorted by the poor print quality it said something like, "$6000 is the price you pay after putting $5000 down". The numbers may be off a little but the scam is the same.
