I fucking hate the B(C)S. Ugh.
It makes me want to bang my head against the wall.

How could college football, one of the best sporting events around, get bogged down in such a mess?

Grr!

3. I say this because it's a farce.
It was a farce long before this season.

You can't decide a champion without some type of playoff.

4. You're really the Attorney General out there, aren't you?
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-bcs-utahlawsuit&prov=ap&type=lgns

Utah's attorney general is investigating the Bowl Championship Series for a possible violation of federal antitrust laws after an undefeated Utes team was left out of the national title game for the second time in five years.

Attorney General Mark Shurtleff contends the BCS unfairly puts schools like Utah, which is a member of a conference without an automatic bid to the lucrative bowl games, at a competitive and financial disadvantage.

"We've established that from the very first day, from the very first kickoff in the college season, more than half of the schools are put on an unlevel playing field," Shurtleff said Tuesday. "They will never be allowed to play for a national championship."

7. haha, no and I think he's an idiot.
This isn't how you bring the BCS down.

I get the point, but it's not going to do anything.

Now if Obama declared Utah & USC national champs...well that might do it. :D

6. Eh, the whole college football system is a total farce
You set your own schedules, heck you can even play teams from Division II/FCS or whatever teams.

There are 120 freaking DI/FBS teams, how can you possibly have a system that makes sense of all that?

One of the biggest factors in the "rankings" is a coaches poll. How much spare time do you think coaches really have to judge all 120 teams fairly? Not to mention the inevitable conference self-promotion that goes on in these things.

The whole absurdity of any rankings/polls, human or computer.

Why does a team fall in the rankings when they lose to a higher ranked team? If the previous rankings were correct, isn't that what was supposed to happen?

Then there is the whole conference system which builds teams up based on histories that may or may not be relevant. Is the Pac-10 any better or worse than the Big Ten? Is 3rd or 4th place in the Big 12 or SEC better than first place in a "lesser" conference? Even after a full regular season we don't have a clue.

Even if you want a playoff, which I'd agree would be better, the whole system is in need of a massive overhaul.

8. They need to use the BCS to seed an 8 team playoff.
Keep the rule of maximum 2 teams per conference in place. And force Notre Dame to join the Big Ten (Big 12 part deux?)
