Poll question: CONFESS!!! Would you eat the flesh of a dead love one if it meant your survival?
AKA something like the Uraguayan Soccer team that crashed in the Andies or the Donner party

2. CONFESS! What prompted this question?
It's a very rare event nowadays where one is confronted with such a choice. Mercifully.

4. Yes.
And I'd want any of my loved ones to do the same to me.

Some tribes used to eat the flesh of the dead as a way to honor them. Honestly, I think I'd feel worse crapping 'em out eating them.

That would only happen if you ate the brains...

The flesh wouldn't give you that awful disease.

11. My dear LynneSin...
I believe I would...

Consider this: If you did, then that person would live on, inside you, as part of you...

What greater honor would there be? To have that person immortalized inside you...

It would be a debt that you could never repay.

15. Well, people are animals, at their heart. Once desparation sets in...
who knows? I'd like to think I'd kill myself before even thinking of eating a loved one in such a situation, but what if animal instincts overwhelmed my human nature? I think it could potentially happen to anybody.
Therefore, I chose other.

22. Not only that, we have dinner table conversations on who would be the tastiest.
I think we finally settled on Pat, me, and the two oldest boys. My daughter has too much muscle, my middle son has too much chunk, and my youngest is too skinny. The rest of us have a nice balance of fat and muscle and not too fatty and not too gamey. Tasty, tasty humans. :9

I love my weird family!

26. Hmmm, we have been somewhat snowbound here in Portland, so we discussed this the other night.
The order of eating is:

The fish go first (cloud fish first, then working our way up through the goldfish according to size)
Then the bunny
Then the kitties (there was some debate as to whether we'd eat them according to size or age (quantity vs. quality of meat)
Then my daughter
Then my son (but he's almost bigger than I am, so maybe I should be eaten before him)
Then me
Then, since he's the biggest, my husband would come out on top ... Survival of the fittest, you know.

:D

27. Ive always been a little curious
I imagine people taste like pork. And for the most part, probably not the good parts. Anyway, back the the question: sure, why not. I would apreciate it if someone else would prepare it for me though. Ive never had human and I wouldn't know how to cook it.

29. Almost anybody who answered no...
Would change their mind after a week or two.I've read a couple of books about peoples lost at sea

or in similar situations where they don't have any food supply and at least 95% of them do it.The

remaining 5% die of hunger and become the next meal for the others.

30. Not only would I, I would expect them to do the same if it were me.
I wouldn't kill a loved one, but once they're already gone? It's gross and unfathomable, but if I *had* to, like if I were in an "Alive!" situation (the movie) I know they would want me to survive, as I would want them.

36. I honestly don't know
That's one question I can't answer unless I'm faced with that dilemma.

My reaction is no way - but survival instincts may say something else in that situation.
