Pole-dancing: Olympic sport?
http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/27846893/

A pole dancing studio in Salt Lake City has become part of a worldwide movement to get pole dancing considered as an Olympic sport for the 2012 Games in London, KUTV reported Friday.

"It's automatically assumed it has something to do with stripping," said Lizz Schofield, owner of Studio Soiree in Sugar House, which is filled with floor-to-ceiling poles. "But it's not stripping at all."

"I don't take my clothes off at all. I just come for a great workout," Andrea Bower, a mother of four, told KUTV.

I like that they have to constantly deny that it has anything to do with stripping, as if:

1. Stripping is a BAD THING, in all places, at all times, and

2. Saying it isn't, over and over again, actually starts to mean that it isn't.

3. You would think that, maybe, they would try to not use the word "pole" so much.
Especially if they're trying to get away from the "stripper" reputation.

8. It's got "reality show" written all over it.
Can you imagine Cloris Leachmann, pole-dancing?

2. You keep using that word.
I do not think it means what you think it means.

6. No.
Even Jerry Springer looked at this and thought, "No, this is too stupid for the public airwaves".

Thankfully, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22SR-EWn1PI">YouTube has no such barriers for entry. Did you know that rock climbers train by pole dancing? Neither did I, and I'm guessing that rock climbers didn't know that, either.

5. No more than pantomime.
I also don't consider car racing a sport, either.

13. Okay, that's the official best url ever.
Discountstripper.com

I'm loling at the idea of what a discount stripper looks like. Like if some chick shows up to a bachelor party, and she's sucked up and missing teeth and has an artificial leg, and the groomsmen are like "hey, she was on sale, we spent all our money renting tuxes."

I have a deeply odd sense of humor sometimes.
