Older than me, sure. Older than my parents, no. Someone has to be my parents' age or older to be old. Or they have to be me, because I'm old.

And no, this is not meant ironically. Everybody needs a little Rodgers & Hammerstein sometimes, and a little bit of Mandy Patinkin.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ii465lXLp8w

Yeah, it was back in the day, and I don't get what Mandy's doing with his arms there, but oh, what a voice!

Now go find a mirror, look into it, and say, "I'm beautiful."

55. Aw, Peggie.
I haven't been around as long as you have, but I FEEL old because, even though I'm the same age as our president-elect, my days of bouncing down a flight of stairs like he does are looong over. The knees, baby. The knees.

Although getting old does have its perks. Por ejemplo: Now that I wear my hair really short, the whiter it gets, the cooler it looks. It'll be all white very soon, and then in my mind's eye I'll look like Johhny Quest's dad's gay lover, Race Bannon. (See below...) So I got that goin' for me...which is nice.

You are only as old as you allow yourself to be. I'm 56. (Yikes) I have lifelong friends my age who are mentally closer to 80. However, I had the good fortune to have a late-in-life baby, and she has made all the difference in helping me keep a youthful outlook. She's 15, and I'm determined that she enjoy her teenage years to the fullest. So I am the "go to" mom for tickets and rides to concerts, movies, amusement parks, etc. I'm having a great time!

Enjoy Thanksgiving and your birthday. It's only a number. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead!

72. California Peggy! You're the same age as me!
Chronologically, *they* tell me I'm about 36. But when I read your posts, I often think, "That's how I feel," and also when I read your poems. And so I tend to think of you as the same age as me! So you can't be old, because I'm not old, and we're the same age. So there. :)

Obama's inauguration, I will be 70 years old. I'm not complaining, as getting older beats the alternative.

90. 65? You're a youngster!
Happy birthday in advance! I will probably be out of country on the big day, so I'll just say it now!

After hitting the big 50, none of them (birthdays) matter any more as far as I'm concerned.
