Just saw "Little Big Man"
Great movie, I'd never seen it but its pretty powerful. Also very ambitious considering it was made in '70.

1. There's a wide gamut of emotion..

....in that film. Some of the funniest moments in film, and some of the saddest moments. I don't always think much of Dustin Hoffman these days, but he was really great in that early film.

3. That's a great film! I haven't seen it in a long time but it rocked!
I like Dustin Hoffman.

He's made some great flicks, imho!

'The Graduate', 'Marathon Man' ("Does it hurt?") argh!!!

'Lenny', 'All the President's Men', 'Kramer vs. Kramer',

'Rain Man', 'Papillon', 'Doomsday Afternoon'? I liked that movie too! ;)

12. I'm sure he's a very good dentist

"Oh, don't worry. I'm not going into that cavity. That nerve's already dying. A live, freshly-cut nerve is infinitely more sensitive. So I'll just drill into a healthy tooth until I reach the pulp. That is unless, of course, you can tell me that it's safe."

16. I was referring to Dr. Szell
Olivier's character in Marathon Man. I would bet that every dentist in America has either seen MM or at least heard of it.

5. My cousin took me to see MASH at the ISIS theater in aspen
Must have been around 1974 or so. Did they play movies for that long back then? Maybe the ISIS was a budget theater. But I remember waiting in line to buy tickets and I was afraid that when we got to the window, we were going to be told that I was too young.

I did end up getting to see Margaret naked lol

9. Funny bit of trivia about that scene
The first take of the shot where Hot Lips is revealed in the shower didn't work because Sally Kellerman anticipated the reveal and was already lying on the floor when the tent flap went up. To distract her, Robert Altman and Gary Burghoff entered the shower tent and dropped their trousers while the shot was rolling outside. While Kellerman was staring at them, the tent flap was raised, resulting in her genuine surprise and shock when she realized what had happened. In the special double disc dvd they say that Radar is standing naked beside the camera and that that's the reason why Sally Kellerman looks so surprised when she the flap was raised.

18. The best part of all was Custer's (Richard Mulligan) breakdown at Little Big Horn
Ranting and raving about Ulysess S. Grant being in the White House. Pure Hollywood speculation, but I'd like to believe that's how it all went down. A classic scene.

Also liked Jack Crabb (Hoffman) getting it on with half of the Pawnee tribe in one night.

It struck me as a Forrest Gump type story in the Old West, except that the plot was much more cohesive and unified than Forrest Gump.
