Rusty bit him in his leg and he's having to stay confined until the healing is complete - 3 weeks appx. :(

Not even in his cage; he'll climb up and hang from it. :banghead:

So he's in a vet-authorized dog carrier.

Here's the X-ray:

And in color:

2. Poor little guy.
Are you giving him extra treats and toys? Does he have a little mirror in his dog carrier?

3. Treats, yes...
Toys are not allowed; his favorites he loves to grab and throw.

He has chewed on the braided wooden ribbons when not chewing on the splint...

The splint is gone at this point and I'm keeping a close eye on him; but follow-up from today had shown some pretty good improvement so far.

No mirrors; he will start to enjoy himself too much, thinking it's another bird. For all their intelligence, birds can't figure out mirrors.

4. Quick recovery, Scooter!
He can't climb in the carrier? Very good plan by your vet.

6. They're worth every penny.
And until Scooter is running on full again, I will try to make his life as comfy as possible...

7. I hear you, HT.
We differ in species choices, but it's still the same.

Good to have you back, btw.
