They were a popcorn snack, similar to similar to "kettle corn." Sweet and with a buttery flavor. They first came out in the 1970s, and the boxes were part of the attraction - all over the boxes were interesting, funny and weird facts. I guess the original series of boxes are prized collectors items now. In the 1990s they were revived, but the boxes were just standard snack packaging.

12. Much better than Cracker Jacks in my opinion.

A light glaze on them with a butter flavor - no caramel as in Cracker Jacks. And no peanuts either, just the popcorn. Similar to "kettle corn" but with an actual glaze on them. Really good butter flavor (but artificial). I don't remember any prizes inside the boxes in the 1970s, but maybe they did include them in the 1990s. The entertaining boxes in the 1970s were prize enough. I'm sorry they don't make them any more, they were good. Why do they discontinue the good stuff and keep making the awful stuff like "Double Zout," the horrible salty black Dutch licorice?
