My cat keeps eyeing my dinner plate (that has largely been cleaned)
Every few minutes he comes up to within a few inches of it and sniffs and then I raise one finger in the air and he backs away blinking and looking pitiful.

I should bring the dish over to the sink but this is too funny.

1. Pathetic, aren't they?
We have one mooch (the neurotic runt--go figure) who will sit there and stare at us the minute we sit down to eat, because she wants to lick the plates. I'm always telling her to "wait your turn!" but she doesn't listen. Of course--she's a cat--what was I thinking? So she just sits there and telepathically communicates "Hurry UP! Gimme gimme gimme gimme." Not a very peaceful atmosphere in which to eat one's dinner!

She prefers my plate because Mr. MG uses a lot of hot sauce on just about everything. That pisses her off. We can't leave chunks of meat on the plate, because she'll drag them off and try to swallow them whole. Fierce hunter, she is. :eyes:

3. I have three cats, only one likes human food
my calico Daniel. I can't sit down to eat without her hassling me for a bite. She is deaf but she can still smell the food!

I'll cook for her though, if I am making something like chicken breasts I will make one for her too. Spoiled rotten...

4. Brianna skips the telepathy
She just goes straight to the "meow. meow. meow.meow. meow. MEOW! meow. meow. meow. MEOW!" routine.

Unless it's pizza, in which case she crawls up on me and tries to help herself!

Pippy, on the other hand, isn't really that into "people food". She goes nuts for tuna and any sort of "steaky" fish (swordfish, shark, etc), but she's usually happy with her crunchies.
