I've never had that before, and now all of a sudden it keeps happening. It is very annoying. Is anyone else getting that?

3. Alt + F4 gets rid of the last screen
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 07:10 PM by underpants
you don't have to hit the + sign just hold down the Alt then hit F4.

Hitting the Backspace button should take you back one screen also.

4. That happens when you:
A) Don't have a pop-up blocker. and,

B) Surf the porno sites.

:P

5. Ha Ha
:)

I do need a pop up blocker. I just switched to a new computer, and haven't gotten around to it. They weren't all that annoying though, until today. My homepage also got switched to an ad that makes my CD-Rom drive pop out.

7. That's too funny!
Makes your CD open? Never heard of that before!

What browser are you using? If you use IE, go get the Google Toolbar. It's supposed to be pretty good. You could also just download Mozilla or any of its various incarnations. I used to like the Opera browser, but kept having too many issues with it not functioning properly with a lot of websites, so I dumped it. Man, it was sweet aside from that, though.

10. I used Mozilla on my old computer
I really liked it. I've just been too lazy to change everything on this new computer. My husband is the computer geek of the household, so I'll pester him to do it for me.

6. my fave new pop-up blocker is from google.
it's on their 'google toolbar' you can d/l for free.

the last one wouldn't allow me to open another browser window with out disableing it. but the new one on the google tool bar just whacks the advertising pop-ups

8. Nip it in the bud
Get AvantBrowser:

http://www.avantbrowser.com

No pop-ups! Zero, zip, nada.

Mozilla Firefox is also good, and blocks pop-ups, but seems a bit crude in rendering. Still recommended, but I prefer Avant.

Anything's better than IE. That's where the pop-up preblems inevitably lie.

Also do a spyware check with AdAware or Spybot.

11. Avant Browser ROCKS!!!!

I'm glad it's free for now.

But I'm sure it will cost $$$ in the future. If the put some of my "desired features" in, I'll be glad to pay it.
