So.... distract me?
Things in my personal life are pretty surreal lately, and I'm all over the board emotionally. I could use some lovely, funny, silly, and otherwise non-stressful distractions, and I know the Lounge is up for that task...

Failing any distractions at hand, how was your weekend?

1. If you think about it....
A barrel of monkeys isn't that much fun. At all. It's true.

16. Worse than that, actually...
I thought this whole thing through last night. Third-shift cashiering gives you a lot of time to think.

First off, where do you get monkeys? Outside of the continent, which means you'd have to have them shipped in from somewhere like Africa. That's gonna cost quite a bit.

To save on shipping costs, they're going to send you the monkeys pre-barreled. And to ensure that you give a good customer review on their website, they're going to give you all the monkeys they can fit in that barrel. They will, of course, provide them with food for the trip.

I don't think there is any airline that will transport live monkeys in a barrel, so it'll have to come by sea. That's gonna be a long trip, during which the monkeys will go through all the food and will begin to stink more than usual. Then they're gonna start fighting over the last of the food, and the simple fact that they are in such close proximity with each other with no way out. They will start defecating.

By the time it finally arrives, you'll have a barrel of shit and dead monkeys.

Not my idea of fun. It's a decent distraction though, right?

18. Yeah, it does tend to get to ya...
I don't know if I'm lucky enough or unlucky enough that my personal life has been consuming enough of my brainpower and emotions lately to leave me much less than the usual amount of worrying about the country...

6. I learned that old cotton tees absorb paint at an alarming rate.
PSA: never let the hem of your shirt come in contact with the paint can.

8. I had a disappointing Saturday
I'd downloaded "The Midnight Meat Train", http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0805570/ but it was in Russian. And the subtitles provided where some other Cyrillic language.

Unlike John Rambo, which I was perfectly happy to watch in Russian because the dialogue didn't serve a damn purporse and it was just as entertaining with or without it, I want the dialogue for this one.

Rats!

Oh. and
