I've seen that Windows ad with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld several times now.
I still have no idea what that is supposed to be about.

Was there humor involved?

2. They're stretching for quirky
And not making it.

(I did chuckle at the 'Platinum Clown Card' with his teenage nerd self on it though.)

6. I also liked at the end, when Seinfeld asked him for information, and Gates
wiggled his ass. That was funny, but I totally didn't get the rest of that commercial.

4. Unfortunately, due to a mixup,...
...Gates was cast as the funnyman, while Seinfeld was supposed to act intelligent. The results were predictable.

7. I'm with you. I don't get it.
It doesn't strike me as funny. And, I do think Jerry is often funny.

8. You're NOT mistaken. Not only is it not funny, it's just plain stupid. Besides asking
yourself if there was humor involved, you may want to ask yourself what the FUCK was contained in that commercial that was supposed to make you want to buy Microsoft software?

As an advertising / marketing professional, I found that ad to be truly insulting. If Microsoft had paid ME the Big Bucks they spent producing that ad, I'd have given them an ad that actually SAID something, and contained at least ONE LITTLE, TINY PITCH to ask people to buy Microsoft's software, and ONE LITTLE, TINY REASON why they should do so.

Not that I like Microsoft's software, but hey, I'm a professional. I'd have given them their money's worth.

10. I have to laugh at the people who think it was pointless and done all wrong
It succeeded in one big thing for sure; it got people talking about it. A lot. And curious. This was the first in an ongoing campaign and people are talking about it. It did what they wanted it to do. Everyone is very aware of MS products and doesn't need to shove them in your face, they are creating a "buzz". It worked.
