4. Good luck! To which program are you applying?
Fortunately for me, I was informed my math score wouldn't matter.

9. Do what I did. I maxed the Miller Analogies Test, so grad schools didn't make me take the GRE.
I still feel like I cheated, when I hear about other people worrying about the GRE. The MAT only takes about 45 minutes, and they score it on the spot.

I do wish you well. Best of luck!!

11. i think i will take them only because i barely bought the book
and my current scores are still good. in a month, i should be much better

assuming i dont get distracted with non-gre related things

14. And, of course, if the schools require 'em, you have to.
I was all set to take 'em, when this MAT miracle (I still don't understand it) happened. I sent the scores off, and the school I really wanted to go to (and did) contacted me and said I didn't need GRE scores. So, I contacted the other schools, and they all said I didn't need to take the GRE. A big sigh of relief, but I was expecting to take 'em.

The weird thing is that I've taken on-line MAT prep tests, and never done as well. But the one time it mattered, I blew it out of the water.

If your scores are good now, you're right--they'll be that much better in a month.

And what could possibly distract you? :)

13. I thought they used to divide it differently..

...instead of "math" I thought they had an "analytical" section.

16. Last time I took I think I had 660 for one and 670 for the other...
but I don't remember which was which :P

But since I went for about 8 years without taking a math class, I'd probably do horribly on the math section now.

19. Nice.
If I'd studied and whatnot I probably could have done that well on the math... but for some reason I always do horribly (at least by my standards) on the verbal sections of standardized tests. I think it's because language is such a shifting, immersive, ever-changing landscape for me, so I can't narrow my answers down to one single one out of four multiple choices. :P So even though I'm much more of language person than a math person, my language scores stay right around the same, whereas my math scores are related to how much I've studied.
