I was attacked by a bug

a while ago when I went into a gift shop in Yellowstone. The insect, some kind of beetle, landed on the side of my head, crawled inside my ear when I tried to brush it way, and proceeded to venture further into my ear canal. It felt like it was scratching around trying to get in deeper so I pressed my index finger in pretty hard from beneath the lobe and tried to slow its progress.

I went into the br and tried but failed to remove it with my finger so I stupidly poured water in my ear, even though I knew I might end up with a drowned bug deep in my ear. He must have been comfortable in the water because he just kept burrowing and I began to entertain the possibility of going to a doc for help but decided to first have a go at it with the arm of my glasses, so I pushed into my ear as far as I felt I safely could and somehow pried the little fucker out of my ear. I stomped on it, I killed it with extreme prejudice. It freaked me out a little.

that might have been it but I can't be sure because I stomped on it the moment it hit the floor.

3. Earwigs don't really burrow into your ears...

It's just an old superstition.
