Me: Terrible delivery. Halting. Not moving at all.

I was also offended at the whole "fear" card being played with the 911 video before the speech.

I'll just sit back and read any responses...thanks, and have a good night.

1. This was the one night I embraced the idea of watching "Friends"

Even though it was a re-run that I had seen before. But the Channel switched (nine minutes in) to the Repuglican convention.

We tried to watch, but McCain is so awful as an orator (he does as well as he did at flying fighter planes, I guess)

Husband changed the channel, saying, "Boy, couldn't someone give him a coupon to attend Toastmasters for a week or two?"

2. Stiff and without passion. I do not know why he is running.

I was unconvinced that the Presidency of the US was a cause "greater than himself" for which he was running, but rather felt he'd decided he was "annointed by history" to take up the task. Otherwise, he parotted standard GOP boilerplate and recapped that he was a POW and a Maverick ("Shhh, we know, it's okay. John, you were a POW and now you are a Maverick. We know, we get it. Now get a little shut-eye so you can give another verson of this crap to some group of community organizers tomorrow...oh wait...they cancelled you.")

(Edit: Why does does someone with an addiction to parenthesis never remember to close them?

3. Horrible.
McCain's delivery was terrible. There was very little content, just the usual republican applause lines aimed at the base.

The 911 video was disgusting. Sold as a "tribute to the victims", it was 0% tribute and 100% ooga-booga muslim bogeymen fearmongering.

I'm still holding out hope that Obama will gain a significant lead after the debates, but I'm also a bit fearful that perhaps we are a nation of idiots and that we'll get the leadership we deserve.

4. horrible. Horrible.
And really kind of uncomfortable - he smiles very oddly after each sentence, twitches, and then goes on in a robotic fashion. He's a true Manchurian candidate.
