2 arrested in meth lab raid
By Dan Packard

Police arrested a man and a woman on an assortment of drug charges during a raid on a methamphetamine lab Wednesday.
Officers of the Amarillo Police Department Narcotics Unit received a tip of a possible meth lab in the 1000 block of North Roosevelt Street and contacted the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit to investigate the complaint.

This idiot has been in and out of prison since he was 17. What the article doesn't say is the police found over $300,000 worth of meth at the house. We are all hoping he goes away for good this time.

1. I've got a few of those in my family, too.
My cousin's 19-year-old son severely beat her and left her for dead (she barely survived) so he could take about $70 from her purse to buy more meth. He'd been stealing from her--openly--for years already.

The really sweet part? She refused to testify against him and begged the court to go easy on him.

2. Oh, yep, I got one of those, too.
My brother. He had his picture posted in the national DARE office while he was in high school (this was WAY pre-Web 2.0). Sold drugs out of my folks' house while my dad was on city council. My parents were clueless about the whole thing for years. He was a real charmer.

On the bright side, lo these many years later he's FINALLY clean and sober, although it took him many, many tries to get there. Hopefully your cousin has a similar happy ending.
