How can anyone shoot a defenseless creature and leave it in pain? Toonces was such a gentle little kitty. She loved for Bertha to pick her up and hold her when she'd come home for her meals. She loved to be petted and talked to.

I don't understand the mentality of people that would shoot defenseless animals.

If you don't contact the police, contact the Humane Society in your area. Just a couple of weeks ago the Humane Society issued a warning to pet owners that have animals outside because some asshole was shooting dogs with crossbows. It's completely disgusting, but at least people got their animals inside.

My own cat still has a bullet lodged under her shoulder blade from ten years ago. The vet says it would do more damage to take it out than leave it, and it doesn't seem to bother her.
