Has anyone heard the new AC/DC song yet?
New album, new world tour coming out. Load and the first single will play.

I listened to the song. It sounds like an AC/DC song. Which means awesome.

1. I need to check it out
Have to admit, though, that I haven't cared much for AC/DC since sometime in the late 80's.

I suspect that they aren't looking to shake things up this late in the game. It will probably sound like most of the AC/DC songs I've heard... which isn't a bad thing.

Is Phil Rudd still in the band?

4. Phil Rudd has been back with them since the mid-90's
I believe, and did the new Black Ice CD.

2. "It sounds like an AC/DC song"
LoL that's almost an exact quote of my comment to my son when we heard it for the first time together.

I'm a fan but they aren't exactly breaking new musical ground :)

3. There is no need to break new musical ground
Would you ask Motorhead to change their sound? No. Because Motorhead sounds like Motorhead, as well they should. Ditto Ramones.

Do people ask Radiohead or Coldplay to become interesting? They have found their niche - borng - and play it very well.

9. I still just have a hard time with Brian Johnson.
I was such a huge fan of Bon Scott that I've just had a real hard time warming up to Johnson. There's nothing wrong with him, but there's something about it that never grabbed me as much. Partly was the change from the more bluesy driven rock to straight forward hard rock, and not just Johnson's voice, which is fine for what they're doing.

And the one Johnson led CD I like the most is the one everyone else seems to dislike the most, Flick of the Switch. That CD just fucking rips from start to finish.

Don't get me wrong, I still can listen to them, and you have to tip your hat to any band that just keeps churning out the tunes and then touring the rest of the time, like Motorhead (Lemmy, apparently, has no plans of ever dying).

My father is 66 and he listens to them when he exercises. :)

10. Yes. I said "Huh. That's AC/DC, but I don't recognize the song..."
It's good. The pseudo-iconoclasts will bash anything AC/DC, I'm sure, but it has all of their best elements while still sounding modern. They may wind up in the category of Rolling Stones and U2 as bands of the undead, if they aren't careful. In a good way.
