"IF you want to get married you should vote for republicans"
Says Lisa's republican aunt to me. :wtf: I was slack jawed for a bit, and I very politely told her this is very untrue. Infact the opposite is true. Then i ran away because i couldnt trust myself to be polite.

Also heard:

"Sarah Palin is a real tough cookie. Goes hunting, fishing, loves meat and is just a tough coookie she will take the womens vote away from HIllary Clinton. No one wants her anymore, she is too agressive" :wtf:

There were other WTF moments but quite frankly, it was all too much for me to remember

Sometimes i am very glad to have a 100% democratic family.

1. Let it go, Pri
Most people in this country don't know enough about politics to talk about it intelligently. Your partner's relatives sound like they fit in to that group of people.

3. I hope she was easy to avoid after that.
:(

Wow. I'll bet she watches Fox Noise and believes everything they "report."

I'm glad that attitude wasn't contagious enough in that family to infect Lisa.

7. At least they have the good grace to be nice.
:)

I hope they accept you as a member of the family.

If they talk to you and listen to you then I'm sure you'll convert one or two of them to Democrats over time. You can be very persuasive, and you have actual facts on your side. :)

Some people really truly do live in a fantasy world of their own making.

19. Similar things I heard.
"Until we are all properly rotated and serviced, none of us can ever truly be plaid."

Of course, I was reading The Onion at the time.

"If it weren't for that horse, I would have never spent that year in college."

Of course, I was watching a Lewis Black special at the time.

"It unscrews to the left if you are going north, and to the right if you are going south... Shit, I knew we should have gone to San Diego instead!!!"

Of course, I was watching A Scanner Darkly at the time.

If you want to get married you should vote for Republicans... I wonder if she literally buys it when she hears from dittoheads that the Democrats want to "destroy marriage"?

The other one is just a pure inability to hear oneself say outlandish shit.

She's a tough cookie and goes hunting and fishing and eats meat and she's going to take away votes from Hillary because Hillary's too aggressive? You know, things like this give me migraines.

28. My parents (in their 80's)
were lifelong Republicans. They have not been such since the advent of the Shrub.

My mom has emailed me lately just thrilled with Hillary's speech, Teddy's speech, and of course Obama.

I'm so proud of them.
