I always love a good cat story...not enough to get my own, but enough to enjoy YOURS.

All things being equal they're lucky he's not mauling them and leaving their mangled carcasses by the porch door.

21. Summer waits until I lie down on the bed to read
then jumps up on my chest to be petted. For some reason she also likes to groom me when I sit down after getting home from work by standing with her front paws on my chest and licking my hair and eyebrows. Nice that she's so happy to see me at the end of the day, I guess. :P

Most of the time, though, she's living by her personal Rule #1: "If it isn't bolted to the floor, it's a cat toy and therefore belongs to me." :)

36. She's quite the little stylist!
I adopted her in late March and she just started the grooming thing a little while back. I think it's her way of reciprocating for me kissing her on top of her head all the time.

In the morning, she also waits on the toilet tank lid for me to finish my shower and if I bend down close to her she reaches up and gently pats my face as if to say,"There was water all over you in there, but you're okay now." I'm so glad I adopted her--she makes me laugh all the time with her quirky little ways. :D

27. They hork up hairballs on the rug.
Sneak up on me from behind and jump on my shoulders.
Unroll the toilet paper from the roll.
Chase each other up and down the stairs in the middle of the night.
Slip through portals in the space-time continuum to hide in another dimension when I'm trying to find them.

And probably a lot of other things I don't know about.

29. Merlin, the Elderly, likes to lay (all 28ish pounds of him) across
every available inch of person he can for fun. Kittimus likes to play "hide and seek" and "gotcha". He will hide under the chair and pounce out at you, just lightly touching you when you walk by. He will also hide in the basement and want us to find him before he finds us. His new favorite fun thing is hanging off of window screens. Something we are not going to encourage.

I read through this thread hoping to find another cat who nurses on herself. Yes she really does and no, she's never had kittens nor is she ever going to.

She's loud when she does it too. Kinda gross. I've been afraid to google that behavior because how the hell would I word it?

40. Oh wow thank you
You know she is really a good kitty, has the best personality of any cat we've had. What she does is jump on the bed next to my husband (Cats love him, ignore me generally when he's around)and goes at it. She used to do it more, but now it seems more of a comfort thing at night.

This makes perfect sense, thank you again.

As he grew older, it diminished and he doesn't do it at all anymore. He just kneads whoever is closest when he gets tired.

50. We once had a cat who did something like that
She used to curl up in such a way that she could suck on one of her hind legs just above her toes and would just go to town. I was also awakened more than once by her nursing on one of my earlobes while kneading my neck with her paws. She was an amazing cat--she'd even fetch!

44. crowd me out of the bed, all four of them
Lewis likes to sit in the reading chair next to the computer desk and cram his head into my arm, causing mayn typos and other mistakes. He likes to head butt me when I am falling asleep too. He doesn't do it any more, but he used to jump up to the door latches on all the door frames in the house. He wanted the little hole the door lock goes into when you close the door.

Clark, likes to knead my stomach and poke his little nasty claws into my stomach and legs.

Thomas likes to parade around in front of the computer screen

CatZilla likes to hunt squirrels but I don't let him out any more.

When I let them outside they all liked to gang up on any silly cat who thought coming into our yard was a good idea. These guys love to rumble. Any cat who sneaked into my garage through the pet door had to run a gauntlet of cats to get out of the house alive.

The young boys like to chase bugs.

sleeps. I think she must like cat dreams. All of the above cat lovers those hairballs are GOLD. My kitth got obstructed and I thought she was going to die. I now also think cat turds are GOLD. I waited days for her to poop. Actually, for fun she has a toy bug with wings and beaded legs that hangs from a string off a light pole by my bed. While I was gone to the Oregon coast the bug was on the floor. She played with it so hard it came off the pole. Pretty good good a 20 y/r old beautiful black cat, who'd just been on death's doorstep..
