Last DVD you bought?
Just curious. The last one I bought was the first season (technically, the first and second, since the first was only six episodes or so) of NewsRadio.

Suffice to say it's a Blue-Ray disc and a documentary. I have to have SOME secrets. :)

8. Well, since you asked so nicely...

I have to say, I bought it because of its relevance and because it was CHEAP (relatively speaking). :D

COOL! I saw that one when I was looking, actually. :D Now I don't have to circle back and snap it up later. Thanks!

13. Well, the thought did cross my mind...
But all the other Blue-Rays were 23.99 and 29.99. This one was significantly less expensive. I also bought a bluetooth headset for my phone. I think I will keep it in the car here (and of course use it up there when I am driving).

Of course you are welcome.:*

7. The Last Oulaw.
My husband had been looking for that movie for years and I bought it for him to celebrate finishing a book chapter he wrote.

It was actually really good and I normally don't like westerns.

34. They still seem expensive to me -
But then I don't know what they *used* to cost. I'm only just now in the market for them. The ones I bought were all bargains though. The first three mentioned were $5.99, and the others were $14-$20. There's NO WHERE to get Blu-Rays for sale or rent in my town - so I have to wait until the postman comes to finally see what one looks like :)

The last actual one I purchased and brought home was the final season of "The Sopranos" (season 7, or as they like to call it, "Season Six Part Two").

32. I love that one.
We were seriously into The Three Lives of Thomasina when we were kids and watched The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights. It had some nice creepy elements and of course the animals were great.

I re-watched it as an adult and noticed its themes of love, forgiveness, and trust. And here I was just thinking it was a good story!

28. I think it was National Treasure 2
and Law and Order SVU season Six.

I want to get the following
L&O SVU Season 7
Monk Season 6
Phish Walnut Creek

I used to buy new DVDs every week on New Release Tuesday but they got to be too expensive, so I stopped. What I've noticed in the past year is that eventually the popular stuff goes on sale. For instance I paid over $30 a season for L&O SVU and I was in Best Buy last weekend (8/1) and saw they had the individual seasons priced at $19.99. I almost bought season 7 at $45 but decided against it.

If they want to stop bit torrent they will stop increasing the prices on new releases.

39. V is for Vendetta
Just bought it at Beall's. I haven't seen it yet, but it got great reviews.

Did I waste my eight bucks? Before that, the last one I bought was "Curse of the Golden Flower" - not Zhang Yimou's best, but utterly gorgeous, and with a stellar cast. They also had "Memoirs of a Geisha" at Beall's, but I hesitated: the cast is almost completely Chinese...um, aren't Geishas a Japanese phenomenon? Disconcerting - like finding a movie about Columbus with an all Norwegian cast (hey, they're all Europeans, right?).

Dalziel and Pascoe, Seasons 1-2
Silent Witness, Seasons 1-2
Tenko, Seasons 1-3
Life on Mars, Seasons 1-2
A box set of John Pilger documentaries

(I got a big payment from a client, and Amazon UK was having a DVD sale. I was pretty sure that none of these would ever be released in the U.S.)
