20. actually, they are called "sleepers" -- and I never take them out.

but, I can see where that does sound funny. I almost forgot to mention them. I forget I have them in, but at the last second I saw where the OP had mentioned earrings and I thought...oops. I do have earrings on. I have a second hole in each ear where I change out earrings according to my outfit...but the sleepers never come out.

inside one in right ear has two prehistoric beads on it. One coral and one turquoise.

I never take them off and on the rare occasion I wear other earrings I just double up on the inside holes.
