I have been ignored! Ask me anything!
My first announced ignore! (a strange one too, I wasn't particularly rude or confrontational. Maybe they are extra sensitive)

 :yoiks: :bounce: :freak: :donut:

4. I think I offended a religious person.
Edited on Sun Aug-03-08 10:51 AM by Kali
I have posted some disrespectful things before (especially in regards to christianity) but the short exchange with this person was not that bad (I thought). I guess I was a last straw sort of thing.

I often FEEL like I am ignored by the whole site  , but that was the first announced one I can recall.

8. (You left out the Daylight Fireball!)

Scientists inferring from the temperature of the ball and its 900-mile trajectory from Utah to Alberta calculated that it passed over Montana at an altitude of less than 35 miles, was between ten and thirty feet in diameter, and weighed at least 4,000 tons, big enough to obliterate a Denver-sized city with a force equal to Little Boy and Fat Man, the uranium and plutonium bombs that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Because no trace of the beast has ever been found, and because no sonic booms were heard as it sailed across Canada, astrophysicists now believe its low angle of descent allowed it to skip off the earth’s atmosphere like a flat stone on a still lake. One scientist predicted that the fireball would return in 1997, but no one saw it.

In 1972 the earth dodged a bullet.

11. Don't forget 1959 Yellowstone earthquake
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1959_Yellowstone_earthquake

The 1959 Yellowstone earthquake<1> also known as the Hebgen Lake earthquake<1>
was a powerful earthquake that occurred on August 17, 1959<1> at 11:37 pm (MST)<2>
in southwestern Montana. The earthquake was registered at magnitude 7.3-7.5<3> on
the Richter scale.<4> The quake caused a huge landslide that caused over 28 fatalities
and left $11 million (1959 USD, $74.1 million 2006 USD) in damage. The quake
induced landslide also blocked the flow of the Madison River resulting in the
creation of Quake Lake. Effects of the earthquake were also felt in Idaho and Wyoming.<5>

The 1959 quake was the strongest and deadliest earthquake to hit Montana since the
1935-36 Helena earthquakes left 4 people dead and caused the worst landslides
in the history of the Northwestern United States since 1927.<5>

13. first shot is from a helicopter (off the internets) but I drove it in April
It was pretty fun (better condition than our ranch roads) but I was pretty nervous for the week or so until we started (brought enough money to hire a driver but glad I didn't chicken out).

Wish we had a waterfall like that. Most of the storms have been missing us. We are about 3 inches behind already this summer. It is greening up, but it would be nice to get some more rain!

55. from the PM announcing my ignoring
"Be advised.... you are on iggy. You break the rules at DU consistently and I've alerted on you, particularly calling me a troll. That is against the rules and maybe you should read them before you get a pizza. Do not try to reply to this PM or to me in any of my threads. I can still see if you do and I will alert on you. Consider yourself notified."

So I was wrong. I have been notified, not ignored.

I guess like I don't get the "I'm leaving" thing either. In this case it just caused a stupid reaction (me starting this thread) rather than ACTUALLY ignoring me in the first place if they were so offended. Oh well, it was fun to do this anyway and I see a friend I haven't seen in a long time so some good came out of it too!:7
