I have a really bad feeling right now
Just started a thread in GD, shouldn't have done that.

My husband's parents are coming to visit soon..

after 15 years of marriage. I will meet them for the first time (they no-showed our wedding).

Work is hell (what's new).

My house is a wreck.

My health sucks (my own fault).

It's bloody hot & I can't even swim anymore without injuring myself.

Ok. I have other things going on, but they all sound so stupid. And, really, nobody gives a rat's ass.

3. Thanks...
you know what I'm facing, don't you? I just hope there will not be too much fallout from the visit.

mine are pretty casual. when my mom comes over she does my dishes :)

however they sound like a lot of inlaws that my friends are married to.

2. My dear KC2...
Ah, sweetie...

I've started threads that I had second thoughts about too...

We are all human!

Walk around your house with a giant paper bag, and throw all the clutter in it...

Then damp dust the open spaces...

It'll raise your spirits and the place will look better!

Don't worry about your in-laws...

They're coming into YOUR turf!

And you know I care, don't you...

It's a test for the parents.

Hopefully they will pass with flying colors.

9. So many of his relatives have visited us, and have stayed so many weeks...
I, unfortunately, know what to expect. It's a lot of work... to work a full time job & still be expected to cook and clean like someone from a country where both spouses don't usually work outside the home. It's sheer hell - these visits - to be honest with you. :-(

11. I hope your day gets better.
And y'know what? Even with all that stuff going on, you're still a very special person. Your feelings matter and your in-laws visiting IS a big deal. So take a deep breath, shoulders back, this is YOUR territory. Pull strength from where ever you can. I like Peggy's cleaning advice.

13. People do give a rat's ass.
You can't deal with all that stuff at one time; attack something you can actually fix for a small feeling of victory. It helps.

14. I give a rat's ass!
Good luck with the in-laws, it should be interesting. It's too hot to do anything around here. I'm trying to tidy up my front bushes, and I can't seem to get it done! Just got back from K.C., and my son-in-law doesn't seem to understand that he will be a dad in about 6-7 weeks, and what that entails. He's in his mid-thirties, so he's supposed to be mature enough to get it! I've got my work cut out for me next month, to say the least.:hi:

Hope your son-in-law grows up quickly! A baby changes a lot. My younger sister matured very quickly once she gave birth. It's supposed to be 107f here on Monday. Wish it would cool off soon. Thanks for being there... and welcome home! :hi:
