Nobody wants a 42 year old woman. I still have a couple of good miles left in me :sob:

8. I'm digging my 40s. I love the independence....
I love discovering more about myself and my abilities every day.

I guess maybe I should want a guy for companionship--but I don't. I just can't imagine being smothered in a relationship again, and there aren't very many southern guys who accept self-sufficient women who think independently.

Maybe one day I will want to settle in, but right now, these are the best days of my life. My son and I do what we want to do when we want to do it. We go camping on a whim, make travel plans to wherever we want, eat midnight meals in front of the TV while watching movies...

If it were just about sex, I could get that if I wanted....there are eager guys everywhere. I have been asked out by people at the university (briefly dated a guy before I felt my chest constrict--relationship claustrophobia hit and I had to get out of it fast!) and in my hometown. I'm just so digging being me, by myself, with my kid, that I don't miss all of the crap that goes with relationships right now. I know that part of this is the marriage I was in--very abusive, very controlling....

I like the freedom and discovery of being by myself right now...I might feel differently one day, though.

9. I've been single for 8 years now
and I'm ready to try again, especially now that my kids are growing up and getting their own lives and don't want to spend as much time with me as they used to. And then there's the sex thing. I'm sure I'd have no problem getting that but I'd like a little romance to go with it.

11. Met the love of my life at age 42 ...
... after two previous marriages, and too many lovers to count.

I once commented to my mother that it was a shame that the LOML and I should meet later in life, rather than when we were both much younger.

Her (very wise) response: "And what makes you think you would have appreciated each other as much when you were younger as you did when you actually met?"

Enjoy your forties. I wish I had them back. Now I'm 52. I met my husband at a singles dance (my first one ever at age 46). It's a huge singles dance: about 500 people
show up twice a month, and most are boomers. Some are younger. A few were in their 70s and 80s, and out on the dance floor!

My husband is the best partner I could ever find. Don't give up hope!

Come on babe, snap out of it! At 42 you are indeed desirable. You're letting the past weigh you down. Use what you have; intelligence, experience, and according to you smoking Ta-Ta's:) to go out and enjoy life. When you let go and do that, I assure you that you'll find the right man for you. If that's what you really want.

34. Not true.
With all due respect, stop feeling sorry for yourself. Get in touch with your inner hotness and go with it. It's there, you know. Don't worry about what men think and want. Worry about how you feel about yourself.

Ok, enough advice for the day.

CMW, who is three years younger than me, wanted me when I was 42 and still wants me now that I'm 45. You absolutely have a lot of good miles left in you; I'd guess that being wanted isn't the issue; it's being wanted by the right person or persons.

Those in their 40's are the one's that gives me the hardest time with guys. Due to the fact that their mature and have most of their life in order. That apparently trumps a 30 year old with student loans.

being single at this stage in my life. Plenty of men are interested, but they all seem to want a WIFE, and I'm not going there again.

If you want a partner, I'm sure you'll find one when the time is right.

"Mule Fritters!!"

I'm 44 and I can tell you, all the women that catch my eye these days are definetly in the 35+ category. I really don't see the attraction to the 20 somethings that a lot of my friends in my age bracket do. I think 40+ can absolutely be teh hawtness, so get out there and strut your stuff!! :D :hi:

to women with self-confidence and energy. Make the most of what you have: if you need some new clothes or new hairstyle or new make-up, get them! Get involved with life. You'll soon find men wanting your
number.

hell, we women in our 40s and 50s have a lot to offer. 42 is the new 32, or something.

Keep thinking positive. If you feel sexy, you are sexy. I'm convinced of this. It's all in your attitude and how you carry yourself!
