1. I've only known one. She was a sweetie, but farted an awful lot.

6. That looks a lot like my Rosie.

She'll be 20 this Fall! She's almost totally deaf now and I don't think she's able to hear my voice unless I speak very loudly. I keep that in mind and make sure she gets extra hugs and petting. Stairs have become a challenge but, considering her age, she's in remarkably good shape, but I fear this may be her last year.

Believe it or not, I found her just about 10 years ago. Months later I found the owners and, they let me keep her because they were having a difficult time finding an apartment and they knew she had a good home here. They visited a few times after that, but haven't seen them since 2000.

She couldn't be a better dog. She doesn't even lick, which I consider a plus, and she gets along famously with the cats. She's so gentle and her loyalty just about brings tears to my eyes. I treat her the very best I can, but I'll never be able to be as good to her as she has been to me.

4. My nephew got his first German Shepherd puppy last month

he's learned how to train dogs for search and rescue and Emmy is the first one he'll train on his own.
