My dad? Dad was a private pilot and flying with him when I was little was fun. My sisters didn't like to go, so it was just me and dad. Also, I helped him work on the cars.

My mom? It wasn't time spent so much as respect for her after I had my own child. She had 3 under the age of two. (twins and my younger sister) I don't know how she did it.

7. Okay
1. What are your parents' first and middle names? Middle names are Alexander and Whitney

2. In what year(s) were your parents born? 1936 and 1937

3. Are your parents living or dead? Living, hale, and hearty thankfully

4. If adopted, do you know your bio. parents?

5. Tell your best or worst memory of a time spent with one or both parent. Father: our first Michigan football game together, walking to the stadium eating polish sausage on homemade bread on a beautiful Michigan fall day.

Mother: going down Memory Lane with our two best friends who are also mother and daughter at a restaurant in Mackinaw City; laughing and laughing and laughing so much we thought they were going to kick us out.

I am lucky, I have a good relationship with my parents and do things with them all the time. Not that they can't be trying sometimes but mostly it's good.

8. Here are my answers:
1. What are your parents' first and middle names?
Charles Albert
Cara Colleen

2. In what year(s) were your parents born?
1940
1943

3. Are your parents living or dead?
Both still living.

4. If adopted, do you know your bio. parents?
I'm not adopted.

5. Tell your best or worst memory of a time spent with one or both parent.
My parents divorced when I was 6 yrs old. It was NOT amicable and unfortunately, over the years, they haven't maintained a healthy relationship. My mom basically wants nothing to do with my dad, much to his chagrin. There's a lot of unresolved anger, hurt, disappointment....Anyway, on to a happier memory:
About 5 yrs ago, MrShine and I were celebrating our 10 yr wedding anniversary and we had a huge party with all our friends. We renewed our vows in a very sweet and meaningful ceremony and, amazingly, BOTH my parents attended! At that point, they hadn't both been in the same room together since our wedding, 10 yrs ealier. I'd never had the pleasure of having both my parents and our kids together, prior to that day. They had a great conversation and seemed to heal a lot of wounds from the past, so we were really happy that happened.

Sadly, things turned again, in my mother's mind, and she again doesn't want to have anything to do with him. :(

Let's just say there's a LOT of karma there. Sigh.
