My mother's father was forced to use his right hand in school. As a kid, his teachers tied his left hand behind his chair.

In college, a friend offered to give me guitar lessons if I would play right-handed. Tried it for two weeks and started getting seriously messed up. Driving, I'd have to look down at my hands to figure out which way I was supposed to turn and use the directionals. That was when I first had some idea of what dyslexics went through. Told my friend, 'thanks but no thanks.'
