Any Baby Boomer worth their salt knows William Schallert.

He spent lots of time with us in our living rooms, and always as a class act; president of the Screen Actors Guild 1979-1981.

Proud to wish him 86 more.

1. Also played the Admiral on 'Get Smart', alongside Agent 86!

2. Hey, I recognize that guy!
I remember him as the dad on "The Patty Duke Show"; I used to watch that on Nick at Nite when I was about seven or eight years old!

3. Of course you do. He was on every show in four decades. Maybe 5.
Like Jesse White, omnipresent. Class act.

4. One more person that I proudly share my birthday with.
Along with Nancy Reagan, Della Reese and Sylvester Stallone. I won't admit who else I share my birthday with. It's embarrassing.

5. It's nice to know he's still with us.
And he's still working, isn't he?

6. Oh MAN! From "The Trouble with Tribbles." LOVED that!!! Still do!
And I never missed "The Patty Duke Show." To this day, my husband and I can both sing that theme song to each other - all verses!

I love William Schallert! There's no part he can't play.

7. Oh, a birthday. Whew! I thought you were going to announce that he died.
Schallert is a terrific character actor. My favorite role of his was as Harry Hopkins in the mini-series "War And Remembrance."

8. An internet acquaintance of mine is doing a biography on him
He says it's very hard to finish, because Mr. Schallert is so busy! But he also says he's a very nice man.
Happy Birthday Mr. Schallert! Here's to many more.
