It's finally finished.
:bounce::bounce::bounce:

I've been having anxiety because my baby(19yo)sister's baby shower is tomorrow, well, technically today. I was tapped to make the cake, and do the invitations. Well, my other sister (21yo) has left me holding the ball on everything (that's a whole different thread) and after freaking out most of the day, I finally finished the cake. I wish I could give you all a piece, but my sister would kill me and I don't think I can handle another bout of anxiety. But here's my finished cake. :)

:woohoo:

Now I can relax.

to draw attention AWAY from the mistakes. :rofl:

Thank you very much. I suffered for my art today.

15. That is beautiful! :)
I like the squiggly design, too, and what a great technique to "hide" things ;)

Another source for inspiration is a book I've have for years called The Cake Bible in case you're not familiar with it. When I briefly took pastry classes, it helped in both design and information about cake-making :)

I trimmed the tops of the cakes to make them even and there was left over frosting. As long as the cake tastes like that, I'm good to go!

21. Oh, I wouldn't touch the cake...
... I'd just surreptitiously remove one of the rings of frosting, probably the one on the bottom. And I'd do it so skillfully that there would be no indent or fingerprints or sign that there was ever a ring there. :P

Seriously, I've done it before.

That is a gorgeous cake! A work of art. Almost too pretty to eat. I am envious of people with baking skills- high-end catering quality baking skills, I mean, I can make ugly food that tastes good, but pretty food is hard to do.

I felt like an artist with a creation. I was on the brink so many times of tossing it out and starting over, but I stuck it out and it turned out for the best. It's all just trial and error, and a lot of watching Ace of Cakes. :P
