Yay! Happy family news!
Mom: Stable, has dropped 2 lbs, which is worrisome, but otherwise ok with breathing, etc. Fiddling with her saliva control meds...But, not worse! Yay!

Dad: Stable, getting surgery on the 18th, finally, after 4 months in the hospital! w00t!

Family: Got a $50,000 grant from the VA to fix up the house and overhaul it. A godsend. I could not be happier. :D

8. I'm still in shock about the VA grant...
I mean, we applied, but I thought we'd get 20,000 at best. This means we can really, finally fix the house up how it needs to be. Ecstatic.

22. At this point, I don't even see that happening...
I'm very, very discouraged. I almost want to quit trying. It's making me sad and frustrated. And that's the truth.

24. Keep the faith, baby girl...
We did not plan on an 8 year gap between WannaB and BabyG. It took 4 of those years and two late losses before BabyG came along. I have a good feeling about this for you, just as I had a good feeling about BabyG. The other two, I was constantly thinking something would go wrong. I even wrote it in my journal. With BabyG, while I worried incessantly, something inside knew he would be okay.

Love,
Laura

25. Ok, I will...
I'll admit, even typing about this makes me cry..I guess it's upsetting me more than I like to admit. I'll try to stay optimistic and to keep trying. I feel, at the moment, woefully inadequate. No woman in my family has ever had a problem conceiving, far from it, and I'm just...sad and frustrated. x(

27. No one did in mine either...and WannaB came so easily...
I had my mother in law asking what was "wrong with me". My father in law telling me (when I told him we were expecting for the third time) that he would "kill me if I lost this one". It is a lot of stress. In fact, it wasn't until Leonard and I gave up that we conceived BabyG.

You can vent, and obsess, to me if need be.

28. I may need that...
I'm really...I guess, frustrated and I don't really know who to talk to about it. When one of my SIL asks me, I just die inside, b/c they have 3 each, and...I feel like a failure.

Wow, look at me, baring my soul...I should shut up now. We can talk privately. :)

31. i just didn't think it would be this hard, i guess...
I know I'm older, etc, but...I dunno. I don't get why it isn't happening. I don't talk about it or think about it really...it just gets me upset.

Soooo frustrated.

Yeah, I'm discouraged...I've been pregnant before, that took no effort whatsoever...If we were 16 and irresponsible, we'd have 2 by now, I swear.

Signed,

23. Excellent to hear.
I know all too well how difficult it can be to have to watch your own parents deal with progressive health issues. But when you are able to celebrate those improvements it can make a world of difference. And that grant will help a great deal!
