3. BS-not on my system

You want a resource hog get Norton. AVG 8 doesn't slow me down any more than 7.5 did.

5. No...they admit as much.

Especially with Vista...many computers shipping with Vista don't have enough RAM to run Vista optimally. (My laptop didn't, for example.) Grisoft has said that these users might have problems with the AVG 8.0 build because it is much more process-intensive than its' predecessor.

That's a large part of why they have kept the 7.0 build available and have continued to update it. It's a better option for people with low system resources.

Edit: added "optimally"

6. You couldn't pay me to use Vista
It's as much of an abortion as ME was. I get at least one call a week from someone wanting to downgrade from Vista to XP.

8. AVG itself was fine for me but
the Web component absolutely kills Firefox, at least on my PC.

9. I use AVG v 8.0.100 with Vista
and it's working well. To use Vista and have things work smoothly I had to put in 2gb of RAM. And I don't do much that would hog resources like graphics or gaming.
