1. a couple of those are on my to-get list :(
I'm waiting to buy them used on Alibris, or happen upon a markdown. I have to get R.E.M. and the B-52's at least.

I just heard a revue for Aimee Mann's, that's one I'll have soon too I hope.

I got Gnarles Barkley at Target tonight, like $12 I think! :headbang: So far I love it.

2. After tomorrow mine will include Viva la Vida - Coldplay
But so far, mine's fairly short.

Sleep Through the Static - Jack Johnson
Mudcrutch - Mudcrutch
3 Doors Down - 3 Doors Down
Gavin DeGraw - Gavin DeGraw
Nothing But The Best - The Frank Sinatra Collection (Remastered) - Frank Sinatra

Most of those are just the ones I remember since 2008 began. If this went back to like, October 2007, there would be quite a few more.

4. So is the Gavin DeGraw better than his first?
I enjoyed the debut. The new one is supposedly more rock.

7. I think it's safe to say
that this one is certainly more "influenced" than his last album. On first listen, you can certainly pick up the pop and more rock feel in the songs, but personally I like it a lot, and would recommend it if you liked his first.

9. Tough to pick. Not many standouts because everything I'm hearing is very solid.
But here's a handful that have gotten some serious playtime so far.

Leviathan - Massive Conspiracy Against All Life (there's a happy title)
5ive - Hesperus
Boris - Smile
Nadja - Desire In Uneasiness
Grails - Take Refuge In Clean Living
Nick Cave - Dig! Lazarus, Dig!
Porest - Tourrorists (came out in 2006, but I just heard it a few months ago, so there. :P )
Kayo Dot - Blue Lambency Downward
Gnaw Their Tongues - Epiphanic Vomiting of Blood (cracks me up every time lol)

18. No, that's the wrong 5ive.
Boy, is that the wrong 5ive! :)

This 5ive is from Boston, two dudes jamming out. The song here called Gulls is the newest, and from the CD I'm talking about.

13. So far
Attack & Release - The Black Keys
Dig! Lazarus Dig! - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Consolers of the Lonely - The Raconteurs
Evil Urges - My Morning Jacket (I know it isn't out officially yet, and don't worry I fully intend to buy it, it is completely worth it.)

I fully expect to love:
Stay Positive - The Hold Steady
At Mount Zoomer - Wolf Parade
Modern Guilt - Beck
And rumored ones that I'm hoping for
Eagles of Death Metal
Girl Talk
M. Ward
Wolfmother

If all of those come out this year, I will be very happy. And hopefully something completely mind blowing that I'm not expecting will come out too.

but that is asking a lot. Boys and Girls in America is already one of my all time faves. I will settle for another Separation Sunday, which is pretty damn good in its own right.

glad to hear it is good, I love the one I got in 2004 of hers which is the last one I have heard of her doing.

I am going to go look at Amazon for it.

pop brilliance. Personally, I liked it more than Madonna's Hard Candy, a good CD that has too many bland tracks and some interesting ideas that never really bloom, like "Heartbeat" and "Voices." Hard Candy was no Confessions On A Dance Floor IMO.
