I keep seeing in teh lounge comments on what is or is not funny.

I'd like to hear what people think is funny and not funny. As we are a very diverse and progressive community, I would expect there will be many different versions.

For me, as long as it is not racist, sexist, or any other "out of bounds" topics (and also work safe), anything goes for me.

You don't have to worry about that.

Human thinking is more complex and nuanced than most people give ourselves credit for. I can be aware or stereotypes and find humor in them even if I oppose them in reality. It think it is the willingness to say what people must be thinking anyway but would never say out loud because of the social taboo that makes it funny.

Those funniest home video shows crack me up, especially the ones about animals.

A well-written sitcom is funny (I loved Maude, Designing Women, plus a few others).

Scatalogical humor, a lot of stand-up "comedy", and jokes that make fun of people are NOT funny.
