In a complete shocker, this years Ozzfest will NOT suck. It will actually return to the Metal roots of the festival and not contain any Mallcore or Rap bullshit.

Black Label Society

Second Stage

3. Yes well, judging from the amount of 1950's song threads....
that appear in this forum I should have figured there weren't a ton of serious Metalheads here. But for those that are this is great news.

4. I would go just for Slayer and Priest....

Ozzy is long past anything even resembling his prime. And I wouldn't want to see those racists in Superjoint Ritual. I don't know if I'd be able to put up with the crowd after all these years. It's been easily 15 years since I attended a metal show and I"m a little long in the tooth.

5. racists in SJ?
I know that Hank Williams III is in that band, but I didn't know he was a racist...oh well

As you can see, I am a slipknot fan, so I hope it will be coming to florida so I can go.

6. Well, Phil Anselmo sings for them....
and he's made a ton of comments in the press and on stage in his Pantera days that have been incredibly bigoted if not out and out racist. I obviously don't know any of them personally so I guess I shouldn't have been SOOO presumptuous.

Plus their use of the confederate flag. I know this is in constant dispute but as a northerner I see it and can't help but be made uncomfortable by it.

7. Yeah Phil is an ass.
He's so fucked up on horse and drink at these shows he just rants about nothing for an hour. He's funny in a pathetic sort of way.

11. ah yes....
I remember Pantera. Back in the day, they were the shit. I knew they used the rebel flag, but I didn't know they were considered racist. If they are, it makes all us who look on the rebel flag as heritage look bad

8. Yeah Ozzy's voice is gone but...
Everyone is singing the songs so no one hears him anyway. It's great just to watch Zakk shred throught the Randy solos.

9. I saw Slayer/Motorhead, in Toronto, in 1986 or 87.
They even did a 'both bands' encore of "Bomber" and "Criminally Insane".

The only reason I'll never see Slayer again is because, how could they top that?

12. FUCK YEAH
I love those top 3. I have only seen Slayer out of all of them though - for "God Hates Us All" in 2001.

But Priest with Halford??? I would LOVE that. :D

13. I like the second stage stuff
The first stage stuff doesn't really impress me that much anymore (well, except Slayer). I LOVE Slipknot and Lacuna Coil, though...awesome bands :)
