Two very bad by products of Thunderstorms in SoCal...
Wildfires and mudslides.

There has been a slide in Modjeska Canyon (about 5 miles as the crow flies from my house). It does not directly affect me, but I feel for those it does.

3. Is it windy where you are?
The interior East Bay has been a wind tunnel for the last two days.

8. Yes -- South Napa
But not as bad as I think you're getting. I can't remember it ever being this windy.

4. I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

6. What is it with SoCal?
All it has to do is sprinkle and you get mudslides! And has there ever been more than a week when you didn't have a wildfire? God must really hate you people :)

Khash.

7. Well, when all the plants burn, there is nothing to hold the dirt from sliding.

9. I'm sure I don't have to tell you this, but . . .
stay alert! Who knows, that fire just might decide to change direction. :scared:

11. Does it often mudslide out there?
I think I'm right in saying it almost never thunders. :D

13. Rarely thunders, mudslides depend upon whether the fires have destroyed the vegetation
And the fires last fall destroyed hundreds of thousands of acres.

12. Nasty winds up here today
and a couple of fires south of Napa. They closed the freeway and I got stuck in the gridlock on my way to my chiropractor. Half an hour for what would normally take 5 minutes. The good news was, everyone else was late for their appointments, too. Which, I guess, made us all late but on time.
