2. I love her too.
But It is so monotone, I can't really say she can sing at all. Maybe it's just the song.

6. Well, that goes without saying.
I'd say who wouldn't, but there are probably a few gay males who would pass.

7. Trying to reply but keep getting distracted by the pictures....
Yeah the song is pretty weak. Not just her either - that sort of arrangement has no business being anywhere near a Tom Waits song. That said, I could see her voice working for a more punk style. There are parts of this song where she echoes Joan Jett and Nico, so that might be a better avenue for her.

Also, I think that it was a pretty cool attempt - an album of Waits covers is not the sort of project that comes to mind for a twentysomething actress trying to break into music, and it may well introduce lots of the kids to Waits. Plus, either she or the producer is obviously a dedicated fan - for the most part, these aren't really his best-known songs.

Anyone know how this album came about? I was wondering if it was a result of "Lost in Translation" since Waits is an old Coppola family friend.

She should stick to acting.

I'm going to go back to drooling to her pics.

Sorry.... yeah... umm.... the pictures.... umm.... hold on... what? what was this thread about.... brb - have to go look at the pictures again... oh god....

whew!! more of that later...

Ok, so I've listened to the song, and I actually think it's.... good. I don't listen to much current pop music, but I think that's a hell of a letter better than most things I've heard from that super-huge genre in some time.

but... whatever... when SJ and I are married, we'll make all the records that she wants in our home studio in Amsterdam, and you guys and not buy them. I doubt we'll have much record-making time though, because we'll spend so much time cuddling in bed, waking up and having coffee while we listen to talk radio and then strolling along the canals of the old city, going to our favourite unnecessary shops.... ah... life's going to be so great then.
